As a singer/songwriter and musician myself, I really connect with Carole King's writing and playing style. My first introduction to her was when I got my hands on a Tapestry album as a teenager. While that album alone is a masterpiece, I found it was just a fraction of an impressive body of work spanning decades. I also love her performing style. It's never flashy or overproduced...just raw, authentic emotion and talent. That laid back authenticity was conveyed through her album art as well. My goal isn't to portray the "character" Carole King, but to pay homage her and her "Beautiful" music. Some performances may be just me and a piano, some may include a guitarist and flutist, others may be with a full band. No matter what the instrumentation, I do my best to convey the soul of her music and live performances.
