I did this piece for an art show at Artists Collective Spartanburg (named West Main Artists Co-op at the time). It was for a group exhibit called "24 Twists". All the pieces had to have something to do with the number 24.
I have always resonated with the number 12, So I did stylized versions of the hieroglyphic and cuneiform symbols for the number 12. My dad made the wooden platform and I did a staining treatment. Very unlike anything else I had done before or have done since.
I ended up living at a 1212 address for 11 years. Some pivotal emotional growth and life moments happened in that house. So this one is very rich in meaning for me now.
