TIPTON Jones-Boiter

Hello! I'm a singer/songwriter and musician from the upstate of South Carolina. I've been playing music all over the NE/SE with various bands and musical collaborations for over twenty years. After a long hiatus to concentrate on my visual art career I found that I really missed making music on a regular basis. About five years ago I decided to get back into the local music scene. I'm thrilled to have met so many new fantastic musicians and friends! I play and teach eight different instruments. Piano and guitar are my two primary instruments of choice, with harmonica thrown into the mix. I recently added a Carole King tribute show, "The Carole King Catalog" and play in the bands Remedy 58, Cold Jackaloupe and Remember Me - A Willie Nelson Tribute Band (links below). I currently teach at Stokes Music Studios in Greer, SC and do session work when I can. Songwriting is always on the table, even when it has to take a backseat to other projects sometimes. Writers tend to have an unstoppable need to create...to turn violently swirling thoughts into something shareable. It's an outlet that becomes a means of survival. I've changed so much over the past 10 years or so, as I'm sure we all have, and it's very much reflected in my writing. I've also really been putting in the time and effort to expand my musical abilities so I'm able to write things that I couldn't have written 10 years ago. I feel a level of personal and creative freedom that I've never felt before and I'm here for whatever unfolds!"

Solo Cover Songs INFO

As a solo artist...I may have a gig one night with just a piano and a microphone playing mellow "Yacht Rock" type favorites, and a gig the next night singing and playing dirty blues with guitar and harmonica. Sometimes it may involve all of the above!

I also perform a Carole King tribute show that is very dear to my heart. I have always loved Carole's writing and playing style. When I started learning her songs for this project it opened up a much wider catalog of songs that i wasn't aware she'd written and/or recorded. When not doing solo shows, I'm playing in my band Remedy 58. We play a lot of the same covers with the addition of cover songs that my bandmate Joel sings. We are a three piece (including our drummer) band that puts out a full wall of sound you don't expect from a three piece, as well as musical variety due to band members being multi-instrumentalists.
